The house is one mile from the popular seaside town of North Berwick and all its restaurants and facilities. The town is regularly voted best place to live in Scotland. It is close to several sandy beaches including Seacliffe (often nominated as one of Britain’s best beaches), Yellowcraig & the East & West Bays in North Berwick.

Walking, cycling and birdwatching
The area is renowned for its marine wildlife. Weather permitting, the owner can arrange for trips around the Bass Rock, whose 150,000 gannets David Attenborough described as one of the wonders of the natural world. Also nearby are the islands of Craigleith, famous for its seals and puffins, and Fidra, as well as Aberlady Nature Reserve and the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick.
For walkers and cyclists,there are numerous coastal walks. Leuchie is also close to the John Muir Way, while half an hour away the Lammermuirs offer moorland walks with stunning views over East Lothian and the Borders.
East Lothian
There is also plenty to see in the rest of East Lothian including the county town of Haddington and villages like Stenton, nestling in the foothills of the Lammermuirs. Edinburgh
Edinburgh is just 35 minutes by the hourly train service from North Berwick. A day trip from Leuchie would enable you to visit the numerous attractions, such as Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, the National Museum of Scotland and the Royal Yacht Britannia. Alternatively, shop in Princes Street and enjoy the numerous restaurants and bars in George Street. It is also an excellent base for the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe. Enjoy a peaceful morning in the garden then head up to see the shows; Scotrail put on extra late trains so you can still get home at midnight.
